Stock guide

Track string stock and reel usage without guesswork.

A useful stock list is one you can trust at the bench. Begin with clear product names, check your quantities, and make replenishment a routine rather than a surprise.

Identify the exact string.

Keep brand, model, gauge and colour distinct when they matter to your stock. A similar-looking product in another gauge should not silently replace the one a customer requested. In STRUNG, add the strings you actually carry first, then review names and details before expanding the list.

Set a reliable opening quantity.

Count what is physically available. Record a consistent unit and check whether part-used reels are included before you enter a starting balance. If several people share stock, agree who updates receipts and adjustments. Pro and Shop offer fuller stock, costing and barcode tools; compare the plan features for the current scope.

Check usage against the work.

When a job is created or completed, confirm the chosen string and racket quantity. Review the resulting stock picture against the shelf regularly, especially after substitutions, wastage or manual corrections. The job record and stock record should explain the same day's work; if they do not, investigate before ordering. STRUNG's job workflow keeps the selected setup visible.

Plan the next purchase.

Look at which products are being used, what remains and how long your supplier usually takes. Set a practical reorder point for your own shop rather than relying on a universal reel threshold. For multiple venues, check which location holds the stock before promising a string to a customer. The Shop overview explains the wider counter and team workflow.

Start small, then verify.

Add a few frequently used products, complete a test job and compare the app's stock view with what is physically on the shelf. The getting-started guide walks through this first setup. Stock features vary by plan; avoid assuming a barcode or costing feature is included on Free.
